Social Justice and Anti-Discrimination Statement

Diversity is at the core of our values.  We believe that discrimination and prejudice directed against any individuals or groups of people on the basis of race, sexual orientation, ability, size, culture, age, religion/spirituality, national origin, appearance, political orientation, economic status, gender, gender identity, immigration status, gender expression, whether actual or perceived, are damaging to the social, emotional, psychological, physical, and economic well-being of the affected individuals and groups of people, as well as society as a whole.  We welcome and respect diversity.  We vow to embrace cultural humility, be an ally and affirm differences. We strive to create an inclusive environment where everyone feels welcome and valued. We are committed to promoting and fostering a culture of acceptance and understanding.

 

We understand that an environment of respect is essential for healing and growth.  We strive to address both differences and similarities between ourselves and our clients in a respectful and curious ways.  Similarly, we strive to practice from social justice, anti-racist, pro-feminist, and LGBTQ2IA+ affirming perspectives.

We pledge to treat all clients to the best of our ability regardless of their various, intersecting identities and my personal relationship to those identities, including ability, age, appearance, culture, ethnicity, gender, gender expression, immigration status, national origin, political orientation, race, religion, sexual orientation, size, socioeconomic status, spirituality, and more.

We encourage clients to ask questions and use time in sessions to explore their own relationships to various identities, as well as the influence of our identities in the therapeutic process.
